The gm company should be ashamed of themselves for making such a crappy product such as this vehicle. Times are tough right now and this Equinox is not making things any easier. This vehicle has given me and my wife so much heart ache, and what I just listed were some of the high lights of problems that this vehicle has given us. It's back in the shop again, and there's no telling how much this is going to set me back. I don't know if it's the battery because the horn works, the gage lights come on, the radio works, but it's just not turning over. When I turn the key all the vehicle is doing is making a clicking noise but it's not turning over. Keep in mind that my warranty expired earlier this year so majority of these expenses are coming out of my pocket, and guess what, yesterday on 9nov2008 the Equinox died on me. Since I've had this vehicle it has over heated on me, the ac system had to be repaired, the gage lights keep coming on as if something is wrong with the vehicle, when I drive on the express way and hit 60 mph the steering wheel start shaking when as I'm braking, the one belt that the Equinox has snapped while I was driving, and three weeks after I got the belt fixed as I was driving and I turned on the ac the vehicle started smoking. I bought the vehicle brand new, but I doesn't perform like a brand new vehicle. Ever since I bought it in 2004 it has given nothing but problems. The chevy Equinox is over-all a piece of garbage. I am filing this complaint so that it can be added to the mounting evidence of product defects in this engine type. At this point, I am not aware that gm has acknowledged that there is problem. There also seems to be a related link to problems with the type of coolant used in this engine (dex cool). I have found many documented references to similar problems occurring in this engine make, the 3. It seems to me that the heater core leaks were likely to have had the subsequent effect of compromising the integrity of the head gasket. In less than two months, this vehicle (with only 68k miles on it) has required at least $2400 dollars in heater core and engine head gasket repair costs. The repair total is expected to be about $1400. It was then diagnosed as needing a head gasket replacement, where it is now being repaired. When that solution did not work, the Equinox was taken into the local gm dealership. This has happened frequently in the past but had always been related to a loose gas cap and was easily remedied by tightening the cap. Apparently, when the battery died, the diagnostics codes relating to this incident were lost. The new battery and heater core replacement totaled $1090. The dealer put in a new battery and also discovered that the heater core was leaking. There were no leaks on the garage floor, nor any interior cabin leaks apparent, but there had been a "syrupy" smell in the passenger cabin. Prior to this incident, there appeared to be a slow loss of coolant, requiring a gallon of coolant to be added over the previous three month period. The Equinox would not turn over and was hauled to the dealer.

Electrical tapes indeed can speed up the installation process. Disadvantages of Using Electrical Tape Instead of Wire NutsĮlectric tape might seem like a good substitute for wire nuts, but many electricians prefer trusty wire nuts over them. So, before purchasing any random wire nuts, try to consider all of the aspects. Some connectors are loose, even movable, to create a custom fit. And each has its own distinct characteristics. Wire nut connections come in a variety of styles. Wire nut connectors enable you to create a secure and neat way to join wires together. There are also some other factors to reconsider before purchasing the nuts, which include, The wires you need to join together require the proper sized-wire nut. So how do you choose the right wire nuts and connectors? Ensure the size of the nuts first. can choose any of the wire nuts of your choice depending on the specific task you would do with the prop. And if you think these are too pricey to purchase, they are not! Wire nuts come in a variety of sizes and shapes. They are the easiest and quickest electrical connectors to use. Wire nuts are the most common cable connectors used today. Choosing the Right Wire Nuts and Connectors But it doesn’t work for permanent connections or as a substitute for wire nuts in all applications. It’s an easy fix for a short-term application. Material: Polyurethane, Rubber, Polyvinyl ChlorideĮlectrical tape can be an economical alternative to wire nuts when you select the right kind. They may vary in terms of quality, price, reliability, and durability. There are several type of tape available, and we have collected a few of them. So yes, you can use these tapes in another type of application. As a result, electrical installations are far more effective when using wire nuts with electrical tapes.Īlthough electric tapes work better as a safe repair option. They also provide a sturdy means of connection, ensuring that connections are safe and reliable. Wire nut manufacturers have designed this tool to protect exposed wires and flammable material. In contrast, wire nuts fill an essential need. Hence, you should always avoid using them with high-voltage wires electrical connection. They do not provide grounding and may fail in several electrical applications. However, you should be aware that these duct tapes are not a reliable substitute. However, does that give you the allowance to use them on wire nut connections? Let’s see what the expert electricians suggest.Įlectric tape or electrical insulation tape is sometimes used in place of wire nuts. Electrical Tape VS Wire Nuts – How They WorkĮlectric tapes are inexpensive, easy to use, and features task diversity in electrical repairs. This guide will go over the main strengths and weaknesses of electric tapes and wire nuts. They may be the fastest and most straightforward option when it’s about replacing the wire nuts, but they are not without their flaws. There are, however, a few things to know regarding electric tapes. And instead, they rely on electrical tape, which surprisingly works as well. Wire nuts are somewhat expensive, and therefore, consumers most likely avoid purchasing them. In other words, these nuts work as electric wires holders in residential places. Wire nuts are essential when you need wires to join together. We have encountered a repeated query about wire nut joints, and that is, “Can I use electrical tape instead of wire nuts?” Well, the answer is quite apparent, yet we have seen some exceptions. But if you need to use it as wire connectors, it might be dangerous. Usually thick and black, electrical tapes are used on exposed electrical wires. A device can also deliver multiple messages (up to 32) to the memory address, delivering different payloads based on the event.īecause communication is based across a memory value, and because the content is delivered with the interrupt, the need for IRQ lines is removed (making the total system limit of MSIs equal to the number of interrupt vectors, not IRQ lines), as is the need for a driver ISR to query the device for data related to the interrupt, decreasing latency. This action causes an interrupt, and Windows then calls the ISR with the message content (value) and the address where the message was delivered. In the MSI model, a device delivers a message to its driver by writing to a specific memory address. Although it remains an optional component of the standard that is seldom found in client machines, an increasing number of servers and workstations implement MSI support, which is fully supported by the all recent versions of Windows. In many cases, the hardware has the final decision as to which processor will be interrupted out of the possible set that the Plug and Play manager selected for this interrupt, and there is little device drivers can do.Ī solution to all these problems is a new interrupt mechanism first introduced in the PCI 2.2 standard called message-signaled interrupts (MSI). Finally, line-based interrupts provide poor scalability in multiprocessor environments. (Furthermore, the interrupt controller must typically receive an EOI signal as well.) If either of these does not happen due to a bug, the system can end up in an interrupt state forever, further interrupts could be masked away, or both. Other problems with generating interrupts through an IRQ line is that incorrect management of the IRQ signal can lead to interrupt storms or other kinds of deadlocks on the machine, because the signal is driven “high” or “low” until the ISR acknowledges it. Additionally, PCI devices are each connected to only one IRQ line anyway, so the media card reader cannot use more than one IRQ in the first place. However, consuming four IRQ lines for a single device quickly leads to IRQ line exhaustion. For example, in the previous example of the 7-in-1 media card reader, a much better solution is for each device to have its own interrupt and for one driver to manage the different interrupts knowing which device they came from. They are typically undesirable and a side effect of the limited number of physical interrupt lines on a computer. Shared interrupts are often the cause of high interrupt latency and can also cause stability issues. or another attempt to improve latenciesįrom "Windows Internals" by Mark Russinovich, David A. It is often served with a sweet mustard-dill sauce. The seasoning mixture may also variously include juniper berry, fennel, allspice or coriander. The traditional Nordic means of preparing salmon, coating with or immersing the fish in a rub of dill, sugar, and salt and dry-curing it. A rub of salt and sometimes sugars, spices, and other flavorings is applied directly to the meat of the fish this is called "dry-brining" or "Scottish-style." The brine mixture is then rinsed off, and the fish is cold-smoked. The following salmon dishes are almost never considered a lox in the bagel context, as a thicker cut is used. Today, however, the name only refers to the style of preparation and has no bearing on the source of the fish: they may come from other waters or even be raised on farms. The name dates from a time when much of the salmon in New York City came from Nova Scotia. The cut remains thin, making it a middle ground between the old belly lox and regular smoked salmon. Ī Nova or Nova Scotia salmon, sometimes called Nova lox, is cured with a milder brine and then cold-smoked. A different cut may be used, too, in these versions. As a result of consumer preferences, mass-produced "lox" generally use less salt and add cold smoke, making them more similar to a "Nova" (see below). Traditionally, the product is unsmoked and preserved by dry curing, leading to a very salty taste. The traditional belly lox is known as such because it is made from the fatty fish belly. The word is so remarkably widespread and stable across IE languages that it probably existed in its current form in a PIE language. For example, cured salmon in Scandinavian countries is known by different versions of the name gravlax or gravad laks, with lax meaning salmon. The word has various cognates in various Indo-European languages. Lax, chiefly a British English word for salmon, is a doublet of the word inherited from Middle English. The American English word lox is a borrowing of Yiddish laks ( לאַקס), itself derived from Middle High German lahs (modern German form: Lachs) stemming from Proto-Germanic *lahsaz and ultimately Proto-Indo-European (PIE) *laks. Lox is frequently served on a bagel with cream cheese, and often garnished with tomato, sliced onion, cucumbers, and capers. Lox is a fillet of brined salmon, which may be smoked. The sounds of their argument start to get drowned out as the camera pans away from them slowly and narrows in on the phone. She begins to try to apologize and explain herself, how she didn’t think anybody else would be home, while at the same time Seth shouts over her what the fuck does she think she’s doing, this is someone else’s house. She tosses the phone down and scrambles to pull up her panties and cover herself. In a panicked voice she tells her boyfriend she’ll have to call him back and hangs up suddenly. Bianca gasps and swears loudly in surprise, and scrambles to cover herself. Soon, things get more intense, and just as she’s about to cum a young man, Seth (Jessy Jones), rounds the corner into the room and swears in surprise, demanding to know what the fuck is going on. She dirty talks with her boyfriend over the phone as she rubs her wet pussy. Bianca starts moaning a bit and says ‘Yeah, I want you to do everything to me baby…’ and slips off her panties, gently pushing a finger in with a light gasp. Her fingers hover over it in anticipation. Her fingers push aside the loose fabric to reveal a glimpse of her pussy. She lies down on a living room chair and starts lightly tugging at the crotch of her panties, loosening them around her body. ‘Oh yeah? I bet you are!’ she responds to an unheard statement. She assures Ethan it’s fine, the family she’s babysitting for aren’t due back for hours, she can be as loud as she wants. ‘Am I horny too?’ she repeats his question, and teasingly answers maaaaaybe a little, with an innocent grin as she moves into the living room and slips off her skirt, revealing her tiny thong and tight ass. Bianca clearly loves the chase and is playing hard to get, telling him playfully to stop, he’s so bad, she isn’t even at her own house! He says he doesn’t care but she remarks that he’s just saying that now because he’s horny. She is giggling wildly and gasping at the outrageous things he’s saying on the other end of the line, which seem like provocative sexual advances. But to her shock, Katie begins to gloat, saying that Maria will have to keep that a secret for YEARS, if she doesn't want to get kicked out of the squad like Katie was. Maria decides that she's already won, so she admits to Katie that she is a lesbian too. She just wants the personal satisfaction of knowing that Maria is a hypocrite. Katie says that what she really wants is for Maria to admit to her that she's a lesbian, too. To Maria's surprise, Katie says that she has no desire to rejoin the squad. Maria isn't shy about admitting that she is the one who outed Katie, and taunts that Katie has no hope of getting back on the squad. Not only that, but Katie is sure that the only way Maria could have known that she's a lesbian is if Maria is also a lesbian herself. Katie accuses Maria, the new cheerleading captain, of being the one who outed her and spread the terrible rumor. The school's conservative faculty didn't want a lesbian on the squad, and someone spread a false rumor that Katie was looking up the other cheerleaders' skirts, so nobody on the squad wanted to defend her. From their conversation, it is revealed that Katie used to be the captain of the cheerleading squad, but she got kicked off the squad after she was somehow outed as a lesbian. When Maria arrives at her house, she is surprised to see that Katie has followed her, but she gloatingly calls Katie 'ex-captain', and arrogantly invites her inside. Katie's eyes narrow with contempt, and she decides to follow Maria to her home. Later that day, after school, Katie spots her schoolmate Maria (Jane Wilde), who is wearing a cheerleading uniform. She opens her closet door to get her school uniform, but gets upset when she sees her cheerleader outfit, hinting that her depression has something to do with cheerleading. She's been too depressed to go to school for the past few days, but today she has no choice but to go back. Katie (Gabbie Carter) is curled up miserably on her bed, surrounded by crumpled tissues and food wrappers. Oral-B’s Smart 1500 Electric Rechargeable Toothbrush is the closest correlate to the Philips 4100, and a great alternative if our top pick goes out of stock or if you prefer round, oscillating brush heads to Philips’ more traditionally shaped brushes. Pressure sensor is only a light alert, not a vibration.Brush doesn’t stop automatically after two minutes.Oral-B’s most affordable brush offers the necessary timer and pressure sensor. Either way, you won’t have to keep track of when to order a replacement-an icon on the handle lights up and the unit beeps, letting you know when it’s time. While you don’t get a carrying case with the 4100, which is the norm for this price, it does come with plastic brush-head cover and there are also plenty of third-party cases for under $15.īrush head replacements from Philips cost about $10 each you can also try third-party replacements for as little as $2 or less, though we can’t guarantee their quality. And because it’s USB, you can also recharge your toothbrush from a power bank when traveling. The charging base’s cord ends in a rectangular USB-A connection so you should be able to use pretty much any phone charger you might have lying around, or you could spend a few dollars on a slim option like this one. The only major omission of the 4100 is a wall plug, which the company says is for ecological reasons-with USB-A chargers being so commonplace, the company figures you already have several at home and don’t need another, much like cellphone makers who’ve stopped including chargers with new phones. In our tests, the battery lasted for a staggering 146 2-minute sessions, or 73 days of morning and evening brushing, far longer than the promised 15 days. As with most electric toothbrushes, this one is waterproof Philips even says you can use it in the shower. In terms of design, the 4100’s handle is the slimmest we tested, and it both looks and feels more premium than its price would suggest. You don’t have to be looking in the mirror, or even have your eyes open, to know when you’re pressing too hard, like you do with most other brushes, which have light-based notification systems. Philips’ brush uses a rumbling vibration alert to let you know if you’re applying too much pressure. It also stops after two minutes, which is helpful if you forget how many quadrants you’ve been through.Ī pressure sensor is also crucial because brushing too hard can damage your gums. Philips’ brush accomplishes this with a distinct buzz in the vibration every 30 seconds. The single most important feature of any electric toothbrush is the 2-minute quadrant timer that lets you know when it’s time to move between sections of your mouth. Philips’ Sonicare 4100 Series Sonic Electric Toothbrush is our top recommendation because it offers all the features dentists, dental hygienists and periodontists told us to look for without unnecessary extras that drive the price up.

It’s also been said that Abacus resources can be too over-prescriptive and are heavy on the IT. If you head to the forums then you’ll find reviews of the old resource from teachers who say that the pupil books are okay for average middle attainers, but too easy for solid middle mathematicians and high flyers - and I’d say this hasn’t been completely resolved. The question is, has it changed? Well, it’s had to evolve in order to shake hands with the new maths curriculum, but I’m pleased to say things are still hunky-dory. The activities, especially those involving ICT, are purposeful and exciting, and the teacher support is excellent – notably when it comes to assessment. The planning is top-notch and written by those in the know. I know where I am with it and it has served me and my classes extremely well. I’ve used loads of maths schemes over the years, but Abacus is the one to which I’ve always taken a shine. Under the spotlight this issue is a unique maths toolkit from Pearson that’s been carefully crafted for the new primary maths curriculum. |
