Horrible quality-disappointed in HP I've had to have this printer replaced 2 times meaning I'm on my 3rd printer since the original purchase. Fax, scan, wireless, copy all work fine.except for the print function that will not function reliably due to the cartridges/tray design. My recommendation would be to stay far away from this if you want it as a printer. My new HP came in today that uses only 2 cartridges (like my one at my vacation home) and I anticipate far better performance. Cleaned the cartridges 11 (ELEVEN) times and almost had the colors and the fill level accurate.after wasting most of the ink in them. The printer status showed all colors either empty or almost. New cartridges, used less than 2 weeks prior. Tried to use it 2 days ago to print some dcuments - I had used it less than 2 weeks prior would not print the document clearly. I resorted to pulling the cartridge tray out every 3 months and thoroughly washing it because it was the only thing that would "clean" it and let it print normally.for a short while. It constantly stops printing properly because it says it is out, or low, on ink when it isn't. I can't tell you how many times I've replaced the cartridges when they weren't empty because it says they are. In short order I started having problems with it always being out of ink (5 cartridges), flaky printing etc. Initially it was nice and did all of the functions as it should. Terrible Printer Head-Expensive to keep in ink I've had this printer for a few years. It certainly deserves a better support than something written off as just another cheap printer. I dare say this specific model of the HP printer line was superb. I lost a great product simply because the HP cannot specifically state why these printers suddenly do not print from the black ink cartridge. The third set I purchased were XL cartridges because using the troubleshooting guidelines at HP Support resulted in literal bleeding of the ink cartridges. To resolve a simple issue of the black ink not printing cost me replacement costs of two (2) full sets of ink cartridges, and a printhead. Granted, some problems are resolved in simplistic, step by step, cleaning or replacment of inks, but sometimes a problem is so overwhelming, and is NOT resolved by the simple steps given, where it points to something common throughout the model. Using the HP Support sites to resolve problems noted as indeed a problem by the numbers effected doesn't seem to prompt HP to take a position of openess. Photos, and text rendering were fantastic!
